pH is a numerical measure of the hydrogen ion concentration in an aqueous solution, and is used to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Vaginal pH is the pH value of the vaginal microbiota. Vaginal pH values generally vary between 3.8 and 4.5. For women who are in their reproductive period (in other words, menstruating on a regular basis), it is common for vaginal pH to be equal to or less than 4.5.

How Does this Test Measure Vaginal pH?

The Vivoo Vaginal pH Test features a built-in pH-sensitive indicator pad integrated into the test device. When the measuring area comes into contact with the vaginal sample, the indicator pad reacts instantly and changes color based on your pH level. Each color corresponds to a specific pH value shown on the included color chart. Simply match the color displayed on the device to determine your vaginal pH level within seconds.

Can You Still Have an Infection If You Have a Normal Vaginal pH?

Yes, it is still possible to have a vaginal infection even if you have a normal vaginal pH. Even if you have a normal vaginal pH, if you have symptoms like: itching, burning, unpleasant odor, or unusual discharge, then you may still have a yeast infection. An acidic pH value does not always indicate the absence of infection. Seek medical advice if you detect any symptoms of concern.
